There was once...but now

There was once a time,
when i loved your smile,
but now to me it is nothing but pain.

there was once a place,
where i was happy in your arms,
but now i just want to hide away.

there was once a hope within my soul,
that we would make it through,
but now i know that we could never be.

there was once a passion,
between us two,
but now that is gone.

there was once a feeling,
shared by us,
but now i know it was a lie.

there was once so much between us two,
that i kept hold of,
but now i know i must let go.

i want happiness,
and i know now,
that happiness is not with you.

so help me forget all the pain,
help me forget you.
