Attraction

by Kristi White   Apr 16, 2006

Not long ago,
the day we met.
The moon still up,
the grass still wet.
Just a girl;
on the porch I wait.
Just a boy;
along you came.
You, in black.
I, in pink
yet eyes fell in love
with what they seen.
There you sat
right by my side.
Collective and cool
yet nervous inside.
Small looks, small talk
the time, it past.
We went separate ways.
Took different paths.
Long dragging day.
Long sleepless night.
Next morning, I waited.
You sat by my side.
You, escaping judgment.
I, escaping pain.
Another day, another night
then our secret getaway.
Days and nights lead to forever
because you and I became an us.
The opposites attracted
and attraction led to love.
