Young Lovers

by Nikiesha Pruitt   Apr 19, 2006

Two young lovers
Running free
They beat the odds
Can't you see?

She is older by a year
He has wisdom beyond her years
Their families are opposites
And yet they are together still.

He has a boy by a stranger
She has a girl who calls her mother
They expect another child together
And pray to make things work.

He promises her the moon and back
She smiles weakly but promises back
He says he loves her
But she isn't sure

Two young lovers
Who's hearts run free
Their relationship isn't what it appears to be.
