Easter(Monotetra)

by PS   Apr 19, 2006

The happy smell of Easter cake
As a little frilled girl of eight
Glowing smiling face it does make
Am I awake? Am I awake?

In my mouth; Gooey chocolate
Does melt as I joyfully sit
Watching the hard baseball get hit
My eyes are lit. My eyes are lit

The white bunny bounces about
Small kisses being handed out
While little babies cry no doubt
Make me shout. Make me shout.

Little colored eggs in the grass
That children gather after mass
The boys run after the pretty lass
I do there pass. I do there pass

Easter is the hot summer’s start
Bringing happy joy in my heart
The red flowers do as their part
Melt my heart. Melt my heart.

This is such a beautiful poem! The flow & rhyme scheme was perfect. And I liked the repetition of every last sentence. Great job! 5/5*
