Pointless hope

by Emma   Apr 23, 2006

She saw a new day
that was a week ago now
thought innocently
that it'd return somehow.

She wants to give it time
knowing it wont come straight away
but deep down she doubts
she'll ever see that day.

She thinks so intently
and tears fall from her eyes
she's risked so much on pointless hope
she curses as she cries.

Those days now gone
forever it would seem
days of everlasting hope
reaching for their dream.

Part of her though
holds hope through all the pain
that somewhere down the road
it'll be the same again.
