Imagine

by Amanda   Apr 24, 2006

Imagine a love
so pure and true
That no matter what
It would never hurt you.

Imagine a love
so meant to be
You knew it would stay
for all eternity

Imagine a love
so perfectly right
It brought a happy tear
to your eye tonight

Imagine a lover
so happy and free
They were always smiling
for all to see

Imagine a lover
who was your soul mate
you fell in love
on the first date.

Imagine a lover
understanding and patient
You knew without a doubt
they were heaven sent.

If you can imagine
all of this
Then you can begin to know
Why my lover I dearly miss.

He was everything
in the poem above
never afraid to say
that it was me he loved.

But one morning
he was taken from me
not by a virus, not by a crash,
but by angels, you see.

We talked and we cuddled,
and we said goodnight.
But his kiss and his voice
were gone by morning's light.

God, keep him safe,
happy and strong.
Tell him I'll see him...
It won't be too long.

Whether it's a day
or many years more
I'll see him again,
upon Your sandy shore.
