Untitled for the Imagination

by Travis   Apr 26, 2006

I'll take you to my mind,
It's a long story never finished.
It's quite ragged and blemished
But it's my life.
Leave the book mark behind
Cause once you're inside
There's no way out.

I'm dreading the time that hangs
Around this place
Like a halo of darkness
Set over my soul.
Let's runaway and
And listen to the rain play
A dreary melody on the tin roof.

Tell me what's waiting
To greet me on the other side
When I wake and find you not there
Cold and lonely by my side
I held you tightly and you didn't
Say you love me and never leave
A tear on the sheets from where you cried.

I miss the soft sound
Of my heart beating close
To death, on the edge of
A new place to call home
Where I can lay
Upon a bed of embers burns me
Time displays its magic
Faking all that lingers.

Blood stains the new night carpet
Spilling images of lust and murder
Across the clean canvas
Letting your mind wander
Close to my body pouring with
Deceitful lips baring untruthful
Words carried by your heart.

Leave me behind and death will
Follow the corpse covered in oil
From the old factory where lies
Are manufactured and shipped
To your mind with ease.
