Today you turn 16
Meaning its 13 years since we first met
So for this special birthday
I wanted to give you something you wouldn't forget

I decided to look back
on our friendship through the years
The Secrets that we shared
And also all the tears

We've been together
Since the age of 3
Basically inseparable
Just you and me

Made our way through playgroup
Through all the laughter and the tears
Always there for each other
Together conquering all our fears

Separated at the start of Primary
But this never got in the way
Still we were friends
And thats how we were going to stay

Met again in Primary 3
Our friendship stronger than before
It was then we made a promise
To be best friends forever more

Through the rest of Primary
We were always by each others side
We told each other everything
Never had anything to hide

Starting first year fazed me
But you kept me sane
And thanks to you Catherine
It was confidence i gained

Most friends have ups and downs
And in time they fade away
but you and me are still strong
And thats how we're gonna stay

I really am lucky
To have a best friend just like you
You are an angel sent from heaven
Without you I don't know what id do.
