The long picket fence

by chaz   Apr 29, 2006

By a long picket fence on a long stretch of road
was a man on a horse who's sadness showed
he had not lost a battle he had not lost a war
but instead through sadness he shut his hearts door
"never again will i hand over my heart"
"so she can take it, hurt it and tare it apart"
over and over he said this in his head
with the pain that he felt, he wanted to be dead
he had givin up all hope he had lost the flame
because of her he was going insane
riding down this long stretch of street
with all his depression he looked at his feet

under a tree by that long picket fence
sat a girl who's choice had commenced
she would die under this tree and no one would care
which was a thought she could not bare
she had givin up hope she had lost all her trust
so she sat there alone with her hands in the dust

he could care less what happened to him
she still wished love would have come deep within
the man past the tree by the long picket fence
the girl tried to hide in her defense
he stop the horse as he saw her hide
then he felt a compassion deep inside
he hoped off his horse and looked in her eyes
as he stepped closer she slid back to compromise
it was cuz she was scared and afraid
because she still wanted to take her life that day
he could tell by the look in her eyes
that death was all she had in mind
he new she was hurt time and time again
and he need to help her comprehend
that life is beautiful and love is to
and find the right one is a tough thing to do

they began to talk and started to laugh
she thought to her self "i wanted to kill my self i must be daft"
he thought in his mind "could she be the one"
could this be the girl? the one that sits in the sun
he sat on ground with his back against the tree
she came and sat next to him so she could see
that he was in love but in denial
so she thought that feeling was final
he hoped to his knees and look deep in her eyes
his heart fill again and he was mesmerized
she looked at him and she could see
that he had fallen in love and she seemed happy

a few months later there love never faded
there love was getting sharper not jaded
the story i told is the tail of love
witch is more beautiful than a dove
so if you see a person in need
take the time and you will see
that if you care you will find eternal glee
