Whispers From The Ocean

by Claudio Castagnoli   May 2, 2006

Sitting here, peering out into deep blue.
With nothing but this amber glow for warmth.
This air has your name, stitched into its breeze.
The waves remind me of your flowing, curly hair.
I wish you were here, to see this natural beauty.
To realise that to you, it doesn't even compare.

We could sit for hours, wrapped up in these sandy blankets.
Sharing. Keeping each other warm.
As the sun retires behind the horizon and were left dark and cold. But still together.

But my grip on you, it sailed away like a ship lost out at sea.
Its never coming back and you're never coming back.
Here to me. And thats a harsh reality that this lighthouse shall never shed upon.

So i sit here, with a pen and my pad.
No light on my page. I daren't think.
You fill up my head, it expands with your image. I'm submerged in your smile.

I wish you could see this.
Resting your head on my shoulder.
Instead i sit alone on an empty shore.
When the tide is brushed away, you go with it.
Though soon to surface, of that I'm sure. You still have one last gasp of air, before you pull me down with you!!
Where we'll lay together, sleeping on a bed of fishes.
