Truth Part II

It was the middle of the day of May 1st year 2100 when I was walking towards the exit of the cave were we went to meet, when suddenly a loud roar caused hard rapid tremors that rumbled in the cave. I ran scared and frightened; I feared for my life. As I approached the cave exit one last roar came and the last I remembered seeing was the sunlight concealed and the dark illuminated by an unusual glow from a mysterious object that blocked the entrance. People always say it's best to stay calm in scary situations, but I found it a little hard to do that when stalagmites plummeted down at me from the cave ceiling. There was one last roar as the cave collapsed, trapping me beneath the rubble. My vision began to blur as I became weak and weary as I slowly drifted off to sleep.

When I awoke I only saw the dark night as I shivered in the cold. All I could find was ashes of people who once were, the wind always rushing with no relief, blowing dust and dirt all around. As I walked I found a news paper that had "THE END" in large bold letters. The rest of the article was smeared beyond reading, although the date was still legible. The date of the paper was May 2nd of the year 3000 over 900 years from the day I was trapped beneath the ruble of the cave. How was this possible? How was I still alive? There were so many questions I asked myself as I walked; wandering around, looking for answers to my questions, but all I could find were the animals. Why were there animals but no human life? How did the animals survive? What happened?

I soon decided to build a camp and fire, but building a fire was extremely difficult to build with the wind extinguishing any flame I could begin to create. The only way I could build my fire was to build a wall to shelter it, I built a wall out of old pieces of wood and vines from the debris of old houses and trees. After I finished the wall, I began collecting paper and wood for the fire, but as I collected papers I acquired paper from the fourth of May from the year 2000 only three days after I was trapped under the ruble of the cave. In this paper I was able to read one article. I found that the large bolder that covered the exit of the cave was really one of many meteors that bombarded the earth. I also read that these meteors radiated a type of radiation that accelerated the ageing process in humans causing them to age faster and die sooner; some as fast as three years. So I assumed that the meteor I saw had an opposite effect on me. I soon found I was immortal. How did I find I was immortal you may ask? The silence and loneness drove me insane; this drove me to attempt suicide. I tried to commit suicide by hanging myself with the vines from trees. After I hung for three sun risings with the feeling of death upon me as if death itself were there standing next to me waiting, wanting to take me, but would not as if it was unable to take me. All I could do was hang with the wind pushing me about like a helpless infant. I was set free by a lighting storm which came about from nowhere. A giant bolt of lighting struck the vine and me, burning the vine and releasing me sending me crashing to the ground.
