Forest giant

by PS   May 6, 2006

Who stands there so tall and proud
and leafed giant and branched lord
wisdom held in all its enormity
who dares to destroy the solumnity

those without beating hearts or living souls
minds or thought and are otherwise droans
these are the bloody dirty fools
who tear down trees who give us ease

sit in the shade, i can no longer
a good book there can not be read
the thick branches and leaves are gone
forlorn stumps left in place of the trees

people who need paper no longer recycle
what a thought! to reuse which is freely given
but with so much ease they can with force
take that the earth has kept for her own

never will the leaves grow change and fall
colors that grace autumn never to be seen again
nor the green leaves and the baby buds
that should have turned into lover's flowers

today and tommorow dark night bright day
I call to you all to stand up tall, imitate the trees
but fight for what is right and for their rights
for earth for nature for us with all our mights
