A Promise not to love

by Sorefromreality   May 7, 2006

Too many fail me
too many are players
so many tears i shed
and so many times i wished to be dead

i solemnly swear
upon this razor blade
that i wont trust anyone
with my heart, nor my name

i pray on my life
not to love ever again
my fingers no longer crossed
i given up since the last "him"

one night stances
and meaningless dates
pathetic romances
and apologizes that come too late

I'm so sick of these people
done with the lies
giving up on love
it only causes me to cry

this razor blade
that i now hold sharp
will now leave
it's precious mark

my contract of regret
like an oath in blood
that from now on
i will never again love

a swift glide is all it takes
to rock my hopeless world
a single swipe at the wrist
and my cries are no longer heard

a last breath taken
i am out of blood
my final air, down i choke
i have finally run out of hope
