Who Rakes the Leaves in the Forest?

by Nate   May 14, 2006

One day I asked my students, Please,
Who in the forest rakes the leaves?
Puzzled looks and their eyebrows frowned,
And then as they do when they don’t know,
they looked around,
One intelligent hand went up from the
class,
And the student said, Mr. Armstrong
no one rakes the forest biomass,
I countered with, Oh yeah, well please tell
me this,
Why in the late spring, the leaves I seek
are amiss,
Their brains began flashing to images of
fairies, pixies and animals with rakes,
But I said, My young tutelages
please don’t make a mistake,
The leaves are not raked by imaginary toilers,
I told them the leaves decompose
just as if you put them in boilers,
Then I said, And do you what the best part of it is?
The dead brings back to the living
that is what gives,
I said, “You see this is really like a
resurrection,
For Jesus died for us, to bring
us eternal life without any deception,
From his death comes the ever lasting life and promises full filled,
He died for our sins on top of that
old Cavalry Hill,
So my young scribes, I hope that you see,
The leaves in the forest is my Easter Analogy.

That was a very good analogy! A religion teacher you are. It's cool how you can figure out what people are and their personality through poetry. You are a very intelligent, but clumsy. Your poetry has very good meanings with a few spelling and grammar errors, that's how I read you. Also, a very kind and loving father that can put a smile on his child's face. I could be wrong, I could be right. I'll figure it out sometime : P
