Colder

by sammie-rae   May 16, 2006

A thousand tears have made me older,
Forming wrinkles written in permanent,
A thousand lies have made me colder,
Making my heart as hard as cement,
Sometimes bad things happen,
And makes you realize then,
That you can no longer be vulnerable,
To people who are control able.

A thousand lies have made it difficult for me to trust,
So when oppertunity knocks I think I must,
And then others I hurt,
And then I convert,
i hide my thoughts in my heart,
And throw away the key,
So no abuse will be inflicted,
And maybe,
They'll let me be.

But then my heart becomes weak,
For lack of love,
And I try to speak,
But words shatter above.

I feel incapable of love,
To give or recieve,
So I stay sheltered in my dreams,
All I have left is to believe.

It's good and very sad, which makes it even better. I like it because I can relate, especially to the last verse.
