Holding On

by Leah20   May 19, 2006

The depth of this is frustrating
Hierarchy of insinuating
Shouting curses sent my way
Please don't let them fly away

I need my pride
My foolish manner
I refuse to be submitted
To another one of judgments hammers

Please don't let him slip away
Please hold on another day
Please don't let this dear one die
Please don't scream my battle cry

For it is mine alone
And no one else should bear it
Please take to heart
Help me to find true love's merit

Please don't let him slip away
Please hold on another day

Life's a battle field
And hey, kid, it's tough
But please let him see
When enough is enough

Please don't let this loved one die
Please don't scream my battle cry

Me, I can handle slipping
Into depths unknown, clawing, gripping
But don’t let me fall into this well
And take him by accident with me to my own personal hell

Please don't let him slip away
Please hold on another day
Please don't let this loved one die
Please don't scream my battle cry
