Hand-in-Hand

by Romy Rose   May 21, 2006

We're walking on the beach,
Walking hand-in-hand,
Two pairs of footprints,
We leave behind in the sand.

The prints show the past,
Sometimes only one pair is shown,
This was in the bad times,
I ask you;"How come you left me on my own?"

I'm asking;"where were you?,
Why weren't you there for me?"
You look deep into my eyes,
And ask softly;"Baby, can't you see?"

You explain;"When times were so though,
Were so difficult to get through.
You have to understand,
I was the one carrying you."

This is just like the poem Footprints, "during your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
    Was this your inspiration?
    A good write anyway.
