A Bed of Roses (80's)

Another contest entry ;)

Bed of Roses

I fell asleep on a bed of roses
Woke up with thorns shot in my skin
I almost cried waiting for tomorrow
It seems on this side I'll never win

Sweet symphony, I can't hear you anymore
Endless thoughts of me, I'll drown you out for sure
Can't stand waitin' on this side of the line
Honey if you're really here, stay for the ride

I can't wait to see you
I wanna meet you again
I saw you last night
I woke up on a rose filled bed

I miss you a lot, but you ain't really here
I had a dream of you, but when I woke you weren't here
I fall asleep wishing you were next to me, baby
I found your number in the yearbook and it was disconnected

Baby if you're really here, dump a ton of roses
All over my bed so I know you're really here
And if you truly love me, let them be red
I want to know you still care

So if I wake up to a bed of roses
And they just happen to be red
I'll love you times a billion
I won't have any regrets

My sheets with a heaven scent
My life being duly spent
I want to see you every day
So if you come, you better stay

A bed of roses... (red...)
A smell of heaven... (from an angel)
Thorns running up my veins (all the pain in the world)
I'd do anything for you (no matter how bad it hurts)
