Heartache

She lay there, a hole gouged deep into her chest just big enough to fit the pump of life that had been so unfairly been taken from her.

Her palms & cheeks were crusty with a bitter red liquid which continued to ooze from her eyes dying them a repulsive crimson much unlike the beautiful blue ones that used to glitter in the sun.

It was cold, & the vast dark space around her seemed very sinister.

She could not see or hear anything apart from the faint whistling of a chilling wind & the dark thoughts that wondered across her heavy head....

I must be dead....' she thought coughing & finding that the red liquid was also dwelling at the back of her throat as well as her sore eyes.

He had done this to her. Disguised by his charms & humor she thought he was special, he was special....

he was a demon, a monster, he took her heart & left leaving her to bleed, leaving her stranded, tainted, unwanted.

She was yelling behind a veil of tears as she began to crawl, her body now so delicate that every nerve was quaking & every bone clicking out of place, she was still alive but she might as well have been dead as inside there was no heart beating beneath her ribcage.

Nothingness, inside her head, where he used run. As she stood up trying to find herself it felt as though knives were poking her now thin, pale flesh & hot coals were burning her toes & the soles of her feet. 'This is what it feels like to be heart broken....'
