The sea and the sky.

by Alissa   May 26, 2006

Let me tell you of a sky,
who wished for something more,
for every raindrop she'd cry,
to sit upon the shore.

She'd be up there all night,
not knowing what to say.
Each time she'd shine bright,
for one wave to look her way.

Each day he wouldn't see,
Each night he wouldn't look,
he seemed too good to be,
but her heart he had took.

She told herself to move,
for there was no love.
For there was no proof,
for him to look above.

Soon she felt betrayed,
she decided to hide,
no more sky parades,
for her raindrops had dried.

She was nothing but bare,
but she was the sky.
Her sea wouldn't care,
so she wouldn't shine.

She decided to leave,
to quite the pain,
Her heart was deceived,
or what remained.

She left no note,
no letter to comprehend
she had never wrote,
because this was the end.

The sea soon missed her,
but couldn't understand.
his vision had blurred,
for it went out of plan.

He wanted her too,
but she ran away.
If only he knew,
he'd make her stay.

But it was too late,
where had she gone?
maybe it's fate,
'cause it's been so long.

Their dreams both had shattered,
because she was scared.
Of someone who mattered,
of someone who cared.

I don't prefer love poetry but this one isn't classic love poem which is superb. You wrote this piece excellently and you described emotions greatly. I like the title but I don't like the last stanza. 5/5
