How?

by Kevin Dizzle   May 28, 2006

How can we just stand here.
As our memories
Crawl through the door.
The memories that aren't
Just thoughts,
but have people to go with them.

How can we stand here.
Just watchin our lives change.
The lives we've come to know,
To love.
The times we cherished....
What will happen to them?

How can we stand here.
As our friends walk down that aisle.
The friends that we call
brother and sister.
The ones we held dear in our hearts.
Will they be there when we need them?

How can we stand here.
About to leave the teachers behind?
The teachers that cared....
that shared their knowledge.
In hopes our futures
would be bright.

How can we stand here.
Abandoning our school.
Years we have lived here.
Becoming a family, one being,
that shared cared and loved....
How can we leave this house?

How can we stand here....
Knowing our lives are about to change....
Do we stick together,
or will we drift apart....
These words are the words....
of one boy's torn heart.
