Your Lies

Your Lies

You weren't supposed to hurt me.
You weren't supposed to make me cry.
Despite all those promises you made to me,
You ended up exactly like all the others.

Everyone thought we were the perfect couple.
You obviously fooled everybody, including me.
I thought, this time, that I mattered to someone.

Maybe all our phone conversations
were just a dream.
But, prove to me why
you told me you loved me.

If all along, you knew
that all you were going to do
was watch me slowly fall apart.

I know you see me there,
looking at you.
It kills me as I see
that your smiling.
Not because you're happy,
But because you've forgot about me.

All I ever wanted from you
was to be loved. To be
part of your life.

Now I'm sitting here with tears rolling down
Because of the lies you told.
