Seeing Beyond

by Elizabeth   Feb 18, 2004

I see beyond your stylish look
Beyond the way you dress,
Or the way you talk, trying to impress.

I see beyond your imperfections
And it’s my intention
To show you there are no rejections
To the affections
You show
Cause I know
That this is just temporary.
I’m used to the ordinary.

I see beyond your childish ways
But these days
I begin to pray
That you’ll see beyond me
And feel me
Believe me
When I say that you give me butterflies
Even though you tell me lies
I still can’t hide these emotions
That make me a fool
Braking all the rules
Of how love is suppose to be
Set me free
Free from this misery
Of having half of me
Not me in whole
I can’t control
Myself.

I see beyond the pain
And I find myself just living
Breathing, feeling, loving
You.
My heart pulsates
To the rhythm of your vibe that creates
My soul to generate
This poem for you.
My beautiful you.

I’m anticipating for a response
But only silence has been retrieved
Yet I still believe
That you don’t want to leave
Me.
Maybe I could be
Loving more of me
If I could just see beyond my own stupidity.
