Romeo and Juliet

She was hooked up by one of her friends
To a guy she barely knew until they met
They talked and held hands, what people call, "Going Out"
That small beginning took a whole different route

We caught them holding hands, walking outside
I found her hugging him when the halls were quiet
I saw him kiss her near a few lockers
The thought alone was enough to drive me bonkers

It's not that I hated him; I was just a bit jealous
She only hung out with him; that thought wasn't zealous
I and her other friends were pushed to the side
I felt so alone, but my feelings did I hide

Later did I realize they were meant to be together
They were in love - they would stay that way forever
No one could change their minds
They'd be in love for all of time

For him, I no longer have harsh feelings
For her, our friendship could never be up for stealing
I care for them both very much
I don't ever want them to lose touch

One day my best friend didn't come to school
She was moving, by other friend said (not cool)
She was switching out because of her mother
She couldn't stand seeing her daughter with a lover

My best friend caused me so much worry
She made me think her dead
Reality struck upon me, it hit me in the head
But still I felt we should be sorry

I'm determined not to make this
Romeo and Juliet
I came up with a plan to fix this
I'm willing to make a bet

His and her parents will be having a meeting
In the principal's office
There's only one thing us as people can do
We have to stop this

Help them stay together, for the sake of love
Grant them that simple gift
Given by heaven above
So that their spirits lift

They'll be saved from romantic suicide
A ritual of love and death
I'll fight to let them be together
Then they can catch their breath

We have a week to keep them together
So their parents will not commit mental murder
There should never be broken hearts
And lovers shouldn't be torn apart.
