When an Angel Cries [Let it Rain]

The rock hit my window
I looked out to see
Who it was but I wonder
Who was it meant to be

I knew it was her
By the feeling of the dark
I opened up the window
And held her close to my heart

She smiled at me
We talked for a while
She said she had to go and handed me a note
Oh, how I love that smile

I gave her a kiss
And held her tight
She told me to dream
About her all night

I closed the window
Opened up the note
This is what it said
This is what she wrote

I love you my angel
I truly do
But I have to leave
I have to leave you

I'm really sick
So I'm moving far away
But you'll see me again
In Heaven some day

The doctor said
I don't have much time
Maybe a couple days
But you'll always be mine

I have a disease
That cannot be fixed
It's what happens
When two viruses mix

Just remember
I'm always with you
And also remember
That I love you too

That very night
We went to the emergency room
To see my baby but when i saw her
I fell with a boom

She was so pale
You could hear her breath
I was determined to stay there
At least until death

The doctor said
She was going to die
I was in shock
I started to cry

I screamed out loud
"Why does she have to die
Why won't you take my life instead
I have to know why"

I held her hand
Kissed her forehead
Prayed and prayed
I didn't want her dead

2 weeks later
They had her funeral outside
I couldn't stop crying
I cried and I cried

A couple days later
I stopped by to put roses on her grave
Her tombstone read "When an Angel Cries
Let it Rain"

What do you know
It started to rain when I started to cry
I fell to the ground
Asking God why

A few months passed
I was OK
I thought I saw her
Every day

Looking after me
Behind the tree
And I keep thinking
How much she loved me
