The day you said goodbye (when the day dream ended)

The days grow colder,
hours longer,
time slips by so slowly,
a smile becomes a tear,
what was once passion,
is now pain and sorrow.

the agonizing thoughts,
that run through my head,
causing the heartache,
that leads from the heartbreak.

the lovesick weakness,
the space in my heart,
the feelings i hold,
just to keep you close to me,
if only just in my mind.

you'll be,
forever a part of me,
you'll remain in my mind,
in my dreams and my heart,
when i close my eyes,
i see your smile,
feel your touch,
and i wish.....

i wish when i awoke,
the dream would be real,
i wish,
i could turn around,
and you'd still be there,

just like when the day dream ended,
the day you said goodbye.
