The Mask

by peter   Jun 11, 2006

The red eyes behind the masks raided the hut
Chaotic yelling, "Get on the floor!"
Endless crying, a woman holds her baby tight
The wailing of the baby is deafening
"Shut the hell up!" shouts a masked demon
Agitation mounts, negative force shudders
The energy collapse creates a black hole
Nothing escapes from it, sucking life away

An omnipotent evil hiding the conscience of man
Destroying the lives of people and not giving a damn

Mother is clenching her baby in terror
The masked men gripping their guns in anger
Three empty milk bottles shattered on the floor
90 round clip bullet shells emptied on the floor
A couple pots and pan, a few things treasured
Ransacked aimlessly, everything now abhorred
Left in anguish, she cries, the tears of damnation
Trails of shoeprint is left, marks on destruction

An omnipotent evil hiding the conscience of man
Destroying the lives of people and not giving a damn

The mask creates the beast, a ghastly transformation
Behind the blood stain, the evil, is a conscience
On a sunny afternoon he is drinking beer
Vociferous laugh echoing in the pristine air
Girls and sports, he is chattering with friends
The sun begins to set, the day turns to dust
A dozen empty beer bottles left on the table
The faint moon is blood red, it begins again

An omnipotent evil hiding the conscience of man
Destroying the lives of people and not giving a damn
