Breakdown

I lay there,
One long, difficult day
The water pounds on my body
I'm slipping away.

The mask is washing off.

The curtain is pulled
The day flashes by,
My heart hits the ground
Everything inside flies.

Tears drown my happiness
I break down.
The love songs
Play softly in the background.

I don't believe you're gone
So much time is lost
In so few seconds
Such a big cost.

But never once that night
Did I ask myself
WHY...
