I was young and it was long ago,
When this story of love takes place.
We met for the first time and so,
From that moment on I can never forget your face.
There were hundreds amongst us,
In this crowded school hallway.
I was sad leaving that day on the bus,
Knowing I would no longer glance your way that day.
Sure it was just a glimpse,
And there were others better for the eyes than you.
Yet I can't think of anybody since,
I found out what you're gaze can do.
There were many other faces,
Amongst us during our walkbys.
But we had different places,
To be other than staring into each others eyes.
In this hallway, at this school,
I never believed in love at first sight.
And for that I am such a fool,
Now that I know I love you - and wish you'd love me back this night.
