We can't go back

Two teens
madly in love
someone put them together
someone up above

Her daddy couldn't find work
He told her they had to move
she said but daddy
I can't leave my love

Daddy said they needed
to move soon
or they wouldn't be able to afford
anything more than a balloon

She screamed
as she started to cry
she walked outside
up to her guy

She cried to him
and told him the news
and he held her
and started to cry too

He told her
that he would tell her that
he couldn't live without her
just that he wouldn't want too do that

He told her
she was his only love
and she was the one
he spent time thinking of

He told her
They could run away
and be together
and forever stay that way

The girl thought
of her dad
and what he said
and then of what they had

She went home
and got her things
left a note
this is where the story begins

They got in his car
and drove away
she fell asleep
till they got where they were to stay

he carried her
into the room laid her down
and he changed
without making a sound

They slept
next to one another that night
and she woke up
without a single fight

They went out to the beach
to watch the sun rise
and her cell phone rang
much to there surprise

she looked at the caller id
it was her father
she knew he would try to get her to come home
so to answer it she didn't bother

after two weeks.
she missed her daddy so much
she missed his smile
and she missed his touch

she asked to go home
sympathy he did not lack
for he missed him family as well
but he said we can't go back

we are far to deep in
maybe one day
we can go for a visit
but i will die the day

i let you leave me
she knew what he meant but still
she wanted to go home
with all her will

that night they went to sleep
and she snook out
and she just wander
about

she didn't know
what she was looking for
so she went back
and opened the door

there he was awake
sitting on the bed
i want to go home
is all he said

she said
me too
so what are
we going to do

he said nothing
will tear us apart
i love you with
all my heart

so the couple went home
and her daddy had found a job much to there surprise
and she and her dad were reunited
as tears fell from her eyes

the boy got down
on one knee
and asked
will you marry me

the girl looked down
and him and smiled
and said
i have wanted to all the while

three months later
then were married and
were together
hand in hand
