Whispering Your Name

by Molly   Jun 14, 2006

My lips whisper your name
Evoking a frail fragment of memory
An ancient anguish surfacing again
One I thought erased by time and
Painted over by new sorrows

An abstract image shouts through shadows of desire
Turning in exact accord in separate circles
Ascending and falling with unnatural heaviness

I fight the misery that entangles my soul
Struggling to render it innocuous

Cold memories echo around the room
Chilling me out of my brief comfort and reawakening my anger
Opening dusty boxes I'd left behind

I cry out but cold winds seize my words
Blowing most of them away
My malevolence vanishing as it leaves my lips

So tragic and fragile
Vengeance is ashes in my mouth
