Goodbye My Lover

by The Hurricane   Jun 15, 2006

Here I sit
looking at a memory of us caught in glass.

The light bounces my reflection back at me and I realize I am alone.

I am no longer part of a relationship.
There is just me.

I loved you so much that I became you.

The person that is "I" ceased to exist and fool that I was thought I could live with you, for you.
Inside of your skin.

But I ended up naked and raw and unfamiliar to myself.

A stranger to the curves and deep valleys of my body.

My soul.

Out of the deep dark suffocating pain I chose a sharp knife named life and I cut you out.

Watched you flow like the Nile.
But instead of water there was blood.

Somehow this poem touched me... Some of the lines are really interseting... Good work.
