Romeo and Juliet

by Lauren   Jun 16, 2006

You sit there watching me,
Pretending you donâ??t know how I feel,
Pretending nobody loves you,
Pretending my feelings arenâ??t real,
But you remember me holding you,
You remembering whispering in my ear,
And I can still hear your voice,
Saying words I want to hear,
And you look at me and look away,
As I connect to your eyes,
Before talking again,
Speaking again, flooding out lies,
â??No one dares to love me,
No one dares to care,â??
Are the words you say,
As I hopelessly stand there,
Itâ??s not my fault you forgot me,
Itâ??s not my fault you let me go,
And Iâ??m sorry I couldnâ??t be perfect,
Iâ??m sorry it wasnâ??t slow,
But I canâ??t carry on apologizing,
For something in the past,
You and I both wanted,
Our failed relationship to last,
Otherwise you wouldnâ??t remember me,
And remember the things that went on,
You wouldnâ??t continue to run away,
As if you never cared all along,
And yes we werenâ??t perfect,
And yes I made a few mistakes,
But to not believe I love you,
Just proves you are a fake,
I couldnâ??t help falling for you,
But you didnâ??t have to play along,
You could have just turned your back,
And I wouldnâ??t have cried so long,
Just remember Juliet was a player,
And Romeo fell too fast,
Itâ??s the story of you and meâ?¦
Iâ??m sorry it didnâ??t last.
