Marine

by Maverick   Jun 16, 2006

As I lie and stare at the stars above my parents Oklahoma home
I wonder what it will be like
Being away from everyone, and everything
Finally out of my parents grasp
And on my own

Yes, I am scared to go
But my fear doesnt stop me
For I am a Marine
And I must fight for what I know is right and true
No matter what the consequences

I will always fear that one day I wont come home to the ones I love
But if I never return|that is the price that I pay
To insure that my family
Keep the freedoms that I took advantage of
Not so long ago

For I am a Marine
My brother hood and I
Will fight for our rights
Not just our own rights
But the rights of all Americans

The right to be what we want
The right to raise our families where we want
The right to teach our children what we want
The right to live life the way we want
The right to control our lives

My brother hood and I
Have been there from the beginning of the United States
And we will never vanish
My brothers-in-arms
Future, current, and retired

Will always be here
Fighting for our nation
And what we know is right
We are Marines
We will never vanish
