Perfect Proposal

by Poetvoices   Jun 18, 2006

It's proof of your love.
It was the most romantic thing you could've done
to propose our marriage to me
I still feel your love down to the bone.

I smile every time I think of you,
and we talk and talk each day.
I hope to always love you more each morning
than I did the previous day.

I'm glad to be your bride,
and you protect me from each storm,
and everything about you and me
goes back to this enchanting thing you've done.

It still gives me cold chills
and brings tears to my eyes.
Especially when I think on my faults
and bad things I've done--the lies.

I've been selfish as your bride
and taken and taken from you.
Even when you had nothing left to give
and nothing left to lose.

I'm glad I accepted your proposal
when I read it in your book,
and I'm glad you stopped and gave
my ugly person a second look.

You proposal was like no other EVER.
This I guarantee,
because, my Lord and Savior, Christ,
you gave your life for me.
