Missing Within Me

by Tamon G   Jun 19, 2006

To the girl I miss:

I'm like a flower in the depth of winter
waiting for the first summer sun.
Only to wake up each morning,
its cold that surrounds me,
and warmth there is none.

Having to watch other people walk
together holding each other hand in hand.
And me looking down at mine,
watching my finger sway in the wind,
holding nothing,
I can't understand.

Sitting alone at a table looking out the
window waiting for another day.
Thinking to myself maybe a new sunrise
will bring happiness my way.

This sadness begun when we had to say
our goodbyes.
I tried to keep my emotions from showing,
I didn't want you to see tears fall from
my lonely eyes.

So many have come and gone
in my life I've lost count.
But I've never missed anyone like this,
or even close to this amount.

You brought a joy to my heart,
that only my heart can describe.
It was just your overall presence,
it gave me a wonderful vibe.

I know if you read this and love it,
it doesn't mean we were meant to be.
I just want you to know that these
are the words I couldn't say,
but my words you can now see.
That you're the sun and the warmth,
the hand in my hand,
the happiness in my day,
you're missing within me.
