He Let Her Fall

by Miss Lovely   Jun 19, 2006

He let her fall. He let her fall hard.
Even though for him, she let down her guard.
She clung to the edge.
She gave him her heart. She gave him her pledge.
She gave him her all.
She did her best..but he let her fall.
She unbuckled...she couldn't go on.
He let her fall..walked away...and now he's gone.
He let her go. He let her fall.
How can he live like that? How can he stand so tall?
Does he even realize the damage he's done?
Letting her go did nothing...nothing was won.
Did he see the tears running down her face?
Did he notice she needed and longed for his embrace.

Her body jerked violently to her fatal collapsation.
Her sentence...was forever damnation.
Did he care that she would forever be torn?
Never would he leave her again...is what he had sworn.

He promised that he's always be there.
But he wasn't. He only stopped to stare.
He stared at her lifeless body on the ground.
...he made not a sound...
He let her fall. She fell oh so hard.
For him...she had let down her guard.
He now regrets letting her go.
He wonders how he unconsiously stood so tall.
He can't comprehend how he kept it up through it all.
Regret is all thats ever on his mind.
He can't put the memories of her behind.
He let her fall...he let her fall so hard.
For him...how could she let down her guard...
She was the one who gave him her trust...
But falling for him wasn't a must.

An always haunting...never ending... complete misery...
