A Soldier's Girl

by Mrs. DiazBaez   Jun 21, 2006

A Soldier's Girl
Is what I am

Helping my man
In whatever he needs.

I stand next to him
And watch his back,
Being strong
And providing advice.

I strive to be
All that I can be,
A lifelong partner
And best friend.

A Soldier's Girl
Is what I am

These shoulders are for crying on
When no one else is watching
And these arms,
A loving embrace
When the day is done.

These eyes see
What he has seen,
Reflected in his eyes.

These ears hear
The words unspoken,
Floating in his mind

I do not cry
When he has to go
For I know he will return.

These eyes will shed their tears
The day my soldier
Is dead.

A Secretary,
You could call me,
Loyal and True.

No other could ever be
What I am
To my man

A Soldier's Girl
Is what I am.
