With the taste of his lips still on hers
But not one tear did she shed
Even knowing what her heart endures
She has secrets she wouldn't dare to tell
Though she knows she should
She tells lies to explain the bruises, saying that she fell
She wishes that her friends understood
She thinks she loves this man
But wonders why he hurts her so
All she wants is to hold his hand
