I Will Lift My Chin

Memories sweep by me,
Or something you might have said.
Every now and then
The wind paints your picture in my head.

Everything inside me
Wishes you were with me by my side,
Rays of light shine through my heart,
Which sometimes I fail to hide.

A smile passes through me,
When I feel the sunshine kiss my face,
The sun is reasuring me
That it is fait I should embrace.

I will not live my life in sadness,
Wondering what we could have been,
I know that fait will light the way
And so I will lift my chin.
