I saw you

I saw you when you looked at me
those eyes flashed into my soul
and suddenly i felt weak
i had no protection,
you were looking into the very inside of me
you were smiling.

I saw you, trying to pry
into my feelings and thoughts
but i didn't care, i kept staring.
I felt i had no secrets to hide.
Oh i will never forgive myself
when we got off the train,
what a coincidence, same station.

I saw you, when you followed me
as i headed out the station to get a cab.
You were walking right next to me,
and i would not dare to talk,
i wonder if that smile in your face
was telling me to talk, or to keep silent.
All i know i never stopped looking.

I saw you, when you walked away
I could no longer see your smile
or your eyes.
I didn't know what to do,
stopped walking,
stopped thinking,
stopped breathing.
My heart was beating out of my chest
but i couldn't move, couldn't talk!

I saw you, when you turned around
and waved goodbye.
Why didn't i move,
i don't know
all i know is that i saw you
my first love.
