My Hero

by xPoeticTrashx   Jun 30, 2006

I'm sorry I'm not good at this,
This is kind of hard to explain,
I'm not good at this emotion thing,
It's always caused so much pain.

I've locked myself inside this cage,
Holding this emotion inside,
I never thought I'd find someone,
Who release this painful tide.

I was going to live my life like this,
Never letting anyone in,
But then I met you and it all changed,
This barrier was wearing thin.

I never used to be comfortable saying,
What hurts me or makes me cry,
But with you it's like you can tell,
What I'm hiding behind my eyes.

At first I was afraid to care,
Afraid to let you see,
What I'm feeling and thinking about,
The open and truthful me.

At first I was afraid to love you,
Afraid to let these walls fall,
But now I am devoted to you,
For you I'd do it all.

You've redone the mistakes others have made,
You were my key to my imprisoned heart,
Now you're the only one I'll ever need,
Its like you were here from the start.

I want to thank you for what you've done,
You've made me who I am today,
With you by my side tonight,
The sky isn't looking so Grey.

You've taught me the lesson of trust,
As well as devotion and care,
I hope I'll teach you something too,
Something we can both share.

You're truly my hero,
My Saviour, my one.
Thank you for revealing the truth,
This day has just begun.
