Time Slipped Away...

by Mamma Rosa   Jul 1, 2006

There was a time when we didn't have a dime.
We had promises and dreams, together in our search of tomorrow.
A family a home and love of our own. When did we drift apart?
When did we lose our dreams?
When did we stop looking into each others eyes?
You cannot see the tears of sadness, our life is passing us by.

Yes, we have accomplished much.
We have a home, our children are grown.
But, where is our love?
It's disappearing a little day by day.
Was I wrong to watch it slip away?
I tried to hide my feelings of loneliness and despair.
I needed your time, but you really didn't care.

Yes, you were happy.
You had your work, which was your life.
I watched you slip away, hoping you would notice, perhaps one day.
You were the good provider, father, son and brother.
You could do no wrong.

What can I say?
Your lack of interest made me slip away day-by-day.
