Where are you old friend?

by Bitter-Sunlight   Jul 3, 2006

3:50 in the morning
And I find myself thinking of...
You.

How we used to talk for hours discussing \'nothing special\'
And how we\'d laugh about our miseries, our shattered hopes and dreams

Where are you old friend?
For I can\'t find you
where is your hand for me to hold?

A comforting smile is all I need...
A quirky thought.
A silly laugh.
Would do me good this lonely \'eve.

Though sigh as I may
I\'ve known all along,
Our friendship wouldn\'t last

Though cry as I may
I now understand
That what once was ours is gone

Though let\'s go o\'er our memories
Let\'s have but one more dance
A quiet one, a slower one
that lets us give each other,
a lasting, hopeful glance

Take my hand
but hold it softly
In fear that I may break

I\'d like you to know as you hold my hand
that it\'s my heart that you take.

Where are you old friend?
For I can\'t find you
where is your hand for me to hold?

A comforting smile is all I need...
A quirky thought.
A silly laugh.
Would do me good this lonely \'eve.
