Once Upon A Time

by CHAOTIC   Jul 6, 2006

In a far far away land,
Where all the princesses had
long blonde hair,
there was a girl with
jet black hair,
stranded in the middle of nowhere.

One day, as she cried in the forest,
she heard footsteps coming near.
Her head rose from her trembling hands,
As she waited for the stranger to appear.

It was Prince Charming,
the boy who made the girls go crazy.
What was he doing here all alone,
"and why is he holding his hand out to me?"

"I have come to save you
from the darkness of your heart,"
his blue eyes delivered the words,
that kept her from falling apart.

She slipped her fingers through his,
and he helped her rise past the tears.
With him as her sight, she made it,
Escaped the prison she had been in for years.

The prince swept her away into a journey,
filled with obstacles both big and small,
and when they arrived at their destination,
it was worth it after all.

A palace taller than the rest,
stood in front of the two.
It was magical and real,
"And strong enough for me and you."

But eventually, these dreams crumble,
due to the path that fate will choose.
The beauty that once was unwavering,
would be a love that each would lose.

All that's left are the ashes,
that contain memories so true.
Forever might not be as long.
yet it's a miracle for only a few.

Prince Charming and Miss Imperfect
did not live happily ever after,
but they altered the course of their lives
and finished just one of their many chapters.
