Only FRIENDS...

It started off with a game of truth,
an easy game to play.
you told me to go first,
and you usually got your way.

i asked, you answered,
and the cycle went on.
we talked throughout the night,
when we stopped it was dawn.

so we continued our game,
about 12 pm the next day.
then you asked me that question,
i thought "no way!"

but you told me i had to answer,
i held my pride for what i had to do.
"if i had to go out with one guy
then he'd be you"

i couldn`t have been more shy,
i didn`t have time to flee.
so i just asked you the same question,
that you had just asked me.

and just to my surprise,
i got the answer that i`d hoped for.
you told me that you`d go out with me,
it made me want you even more.

but after you said that,
you told me nothing could happen between us.
it was because of your friends,
you said it`d cause a fuss.

you made it clear that all we were,
was friends and nothing more.
i was confused and hurt,
about to walk out the door.

but still i`m wishing you`d change your mind,
and put my wishes to an end.
because i don`t want to be,
just only one of your FRIENDS.
