The Man You Know

by Mike   Jul 7, 2006

I can still see my own scars

Not the physical ones

But the ones inside.

I can still feel the years

Of pain, blood, terror and triumph

That they represent

The darkest of days

Followed by the

Light of caring friends

I would carry the scars

Of a thousand lifetimes

To protect those I love

I would take all of their pain

And carry it myself if I could

I would battle the most

Evil of their demons

To the bitter end

I would stand face to face

With the Devil himself

Unflinching, Unrelenting

Locked in combat

For all eternity

Just to repay the debt

I owe to those who

Have helped me in my

Own personal wars

Thanks to you all, I am now

The man you've come to know
