The Water That Separates Them

He sits still looking in her eyes,

quietly he grabs her hand.

She looks back at him,

but the wind from the off-shore breeze distracts her.

She continues to look at the sand.

He lets go of her hand, looks at the water and Waves.

Tears come to his face,

because he knows he just lost his whole life.

Still deeply in love with her,

he sits by his one true love.

She knows he loves her so,

but she doesn't want to hurt herself,

So she lets her eyes say it all.

She still loves him, but is scared

scared that leaving to college across the world

would hurt them more then this.

He knows it is for the best,

She knows it will work better this way,

so they watch the water,

knowing this is the end.

And knowing the water they watch,

Is the one that will separate them.
