Three hardest words

by Tate LaBianca   Jul 9, 2006

No three words truer,
no three words more trite.
But I just can't help it,
these words feel too right.
I want to shout to the world
that to you I belong.
But I must be silent,
as if we're doing wrong.
I simply can't stand,
that our time we must bide.
And for fifteen long months,
our love we must hide.
I've let the mask slip
and the walls start to part.
And still the tears fall,
for the shards of my heart.
I've grown far too tired
of crying alone,
while all those around me
think that I'm made of stone.
So these words I will whisper,
though never to you,
Till the day we both speak them,
and our lives start anew.
