N i g h t m a r e

by Emily   Jul 9, 2006

Laying still as if she were dead,
Eyes wide open upon her bed,
But slowly her mind slips away,
Slowly she falls and dreams of her day.

Out of the darkness a piercing scream,
Shatters the windows with no redeem,
Shivering cold sweat, shes so alone,
Apart from the monsters just like a clone,

Terrifying shrieks & never ending tears,
Trapped in nightmares these are her fears,
Hand covers her mouth, she cannot breath,
They wont go away! She wants to LEAVE.

She struggles
& gasps
& splutters
& dies

Blinded by tears, she cant stop this pain,
The nightmares they just come back again,
Ensnared in a dream that kills her inside,
Hurting and suffocating she does strongly abide.

The pretty pictures they eat her away,
She cries for it to be a new day,
Weeps at how she knew this was coming,
But this is not the worst, although its dooming.

Thunder strikes its happening once more,
There are so many things trying to get through her door,
Howling and screaming, scratching & ripping,
Frightens their victim & mocking her weeping.

She huddles & cries,
She wishes to die.
And then its over, the storm has ended,
Shes back in her bed the nightmare mended,
Sweat has drenched her tense body,
She shivers as she erases all memory.

Another normal day is whats coming next,
Sun glistens over the mountains crest,
She smiles at every passer eyes all alight,
Until shes reminded of the cruel, treacherous nights.
